Running MAX+PLUS II in (virtual) XP mode under Windows 7

I have a legacy design mostly in schematic form: which I need to make a small change to. The design was done on MAX+PLUS II 10.2 on an XP machine.

I have installed 10.2 onto a virtual Windows XP Mode PC under Windows 7 64 bit.

I can load the design and make the changes but the compiler will not run: the window opens but does not do anything and the start button remains greyed out.

Any ideas gratefully received.

    Yes, I had to get the physical address number from "within" the XP mode PC (different from the Win 7 one).

    You can't load the design without a license.
