Remote system upgrade of CYCLONE III+EPCS

Hi all,

I have a cyclone III device and a serial configuration device(EPCS flash),i fell puzzle about few questions as follow:

1: In Remote system upgrade, cyclone III doesn't need altasmi_parallel IP? cyclone III has dedicated circurt to control EPCS?

2: i want to put two image in EPCS(factory and user),how to caculate the image size in order to assign START ADDRESS in EPCS?

Please help.

    1. It does need altasmi_parallel IP. That IP will use the dedicated EPCS controller.

    2. Build a factory image, measure it's size and Make surre "application" START ADDRESS is bigger than that.

    Thanks for the reply.

    "That IP will use the dedicated EPCS controller."does it means the dedicated EPCS controller will works automatic when we add ALTREMOTE_UPDATE IP in cyclone III? The dedicated EPCS controller is dedicated hard logic in cyclone III, we don't need pay attention to it, am i right?

    yes, the EPCS controller will work automatically when you add ALTREMOTE_UPDATE IP in a cyclone III device.

    Yes, you do not need to pay atention to it.
