Yen, even the smallest Cyclone IV E FPGA has enough logic to implement a reed solomon encoder.

Dear
If you do not mind could you tell me, are going to generate RS mega core function or by using VHDL? Also, do you know the max. external clk that I can feed cyclone IV, in another words can I feed it by 1Gb/s clk? - Altera_Forum

So how come the Reed Solomon user guide says the Cyclone IV GX is supported, doesn't list the Cyclone IV E, and says all devices not referenced have "No Support"? Is this just a typo? The Altera Product Selector v1.0 also says this IP is supported (on the IV E). Update: scratch that, the product selector isn't as smart as I wanted to give it credit for; it just lists all the IP, not all the IP compatible with this device.
Any way of finding out which versions of the Reed Solomon compiler will support the Cyclone IV E ? Thanks!
