quartus 7.2 in ubuntu

Dear All,

i know that altera does not support this distribution (and i am not going to change my distro). I was just wantering if someone tried to install it.

I have tried.Without any success. Resp. with partial success. When i installed int and run for first time, it asked for license servers, license servers were correctly found, then it asked me whether I want to create new project. I said yes and then .............. nothing ............ no IDE GUI appears, nothing breaks, no segfault, it is just running in background and does not display IDE.

all other parts of sw seem to work (like quartus-asm, -fit etc), however no gui. Someone has similar experience? Is there something I should look after?
