Powering Cyclone 3 directly from the 3v3 ATX power supply

Hello, do you know if there're any known (and unknown) issues powering VCCIO by 3v3 directly from the ATX power supply? Power at the close proximity to the chip will be filtered by the set of capacitor and ferrite bead. Are there any other recommendations? Please advise.

as long as you trust your power supply to deliver 3.3V there shouldn't be any problem. DC is DC. But if for any reason this supply voltage goes over the maximum allowed for the Cyclone you risk damaging the FPGA. And you don't have a lot of margin...

To be on the safe side I'd probably add a surge protection on the input (even if it wouldn't really protect against a slight overvoltage).
