Nios II IDE file search

I am using Nios II 8.1 IDE on Windows XP. I Recently ported the project to a Windows XM virtual machine. The project builds, but the search/file/file search no longer finds text in the altera.components library unless I have the library file open.

In the file search dialog box

- case sensitive is unchecked

- consider derived sources is unchecked

- scope is workspace

Is there some sort of project configuration that causes the IDE file search to include the altera.components library?
