I am running the runtest program on the legup 3.0 install. It is used to check the install.
I got the following error. sim -c -do "vlib work; exit;" Unable to checkout a license. Make sure your license file environment variable (e.g., LM_LICENSE_FILE) is set correctly and then run 'lmutil lmdiag' to diagnose the problem. Unable to checkout a license. Vsim is closing. ** Fatal: Invalid license environment. Application closing. make: *** [v] Error 4 FAIL: Modelsim simulation. Expected: Error: memory address not aligned to ram word size! It seems that it is lokking for a license file. I have other software on my system that uses flexlm. The error seems to be occuring in Modelsim's execution. I downloaded a verson of it which was on the same page as Quartus II 11.1sp2. So I guess it means that I can run it (this version of Modelsim). It does not work and asks for a license file. I guess license.dat. However, I thought that all of this was free and I did not have to buy a license file. How do I fix? Thanks in advance. R, Lou_Reed
