13 years ago --- Quote Start --- I used FlexLM to setup the server with the generated license file that contains license for all software. And this works well on the server. You said this is for Modelsim SE, my question is that is it ok to combine all license products in one license file when setting up server with FlexLM? --- Quote End --- Yes, it can serve multiple software tools. You can use the license manager tools to get the server status. Start lmtools, select the server, click the server status tab, and click "Perform status enquiry". If you don't know what I'm talking about, then read the FlexLM manuals. --- Quote Start --- Is the port number optional or it must be set? If I must provide, what is the proper one and how can I get that? --- Quote End --- Your license file should have a line like: SERVER fred 001122334455 1717 i.e., SERVER <machine name> <MAC address> <server port number> --- Quote Start --- How can the client 'bob' search for license file stored in the server 'fred'? how to make 'bob' recognized the relationship between 'fred' and him? --- Quote End --- 1717@fred tells 'bob' to use the port number 1717 on 'fred'. 'fred' and 'bob' know about each other if you have your networking setup correctly. When you're logged onto bob, you should be able to ping fred. Cheers, Dave
