How can I contribute ? (A compact MIDI based Dx-7 style Soundgenerator template)

Hi

I hope to attract the attention of a socially skilled networker with solid opensource experience to mentor me the last steps of connecting the dots

to anker this for me very crucial firsttime ever release.

It is a small scalable by parameters sinetonebased FM(PM) synthesizer limited to from 2 ---> 8 oscilators

each oscilator having 2 DX-7 style envelope generators, pitchbend, feedback, modulation matrix + some more.....(1 -- > 32 vioces+)

-- Very low latency MIDI input.

It is programed in Verilog 2005 --> systemverilog(2009 ?)

Compilable for Terasic's NEEk, DE2 115(With LTM touch LCD for display and input), and VEEK(former TPAD).

I have locked down the source-code fokusing on hopefully launcing it form this exact origin under git revision control named HoloSynth rev 0.8.

I have been thinking about open cores but I have never been able to implement (or comprehend) svn on my own.

http://www.holotronic.dk/holoweb/holowiki/index.php?title=holosynth

The logical structures and comcepts behind the functionality are complete.

And The synth engine is thought to be easyly replacable, so the next people interrested in experimenting with fpga based sound synthesis, can get to the point much faster......

It would be great to get feedback support for creating the documentation and getting the source code rewritten in a propper for others understandable style by the book.

---

I have now locked it down becasuse I'm very satisfied with its sonic qualities and unexpected abilities, even though it is unstable.

---

Have a nice day

Michael :-)

neat project. i hope to take a look over our long holiday weekend in the US

i agree with using a distributed revision control tool. i personally am a Mercurial advocate just because its a little bit more Windows friendly, but not being a slave to a dedicated server is great

Thank you very much for your reply, sorry for the delay but now there finaly is something to see :-).

Being used to listening to my intuition, following first input is usually the best advice.

So I have now made my first splash and managed to get my feet wet on bitbucket:

--> I am glad to have finally launched this ship into the water, and will appreciate all further constructive input.

--> Happy holiday reading to all interrested.
