Flash programmer select file FAILs

From NIOS II IDE I select NIOS II Flash Programmer. Then select File, new and with the BSP Settings file radio button selected try to browse for my settings.bsp file ...... BUT ...... When pushing the browse button the only option in "look in" is Desktop !!!???

I have tried with and without HW connected and also tried a computer restart, but nothing helps ...

Anybody experienced the same ?? Any help on this ???

I run version 10.1 SP1 for all my tools

Hi, I am not an expert.

    Does it always happen ?

Do you use Windows ? XP, vista, 7, 8 ?

Do you use a normal PC ? I mean not a terminal on which you must connect to a network.

Maybe Altera tools don't have the rights to browse.

    Hi

I run Windows 7 on a HP 8600 Workstation (no terminal). The problem always happens. Also if I start Nios II IDE with "run as administrator". However a colleague of mine run the same tools with the same version, also on Win7, but he can browse !?

Maybe I need to reinstall the tool - but otherwise the tools works nicely when e.g. debugging or running through the JTAG connection - so I don´t really think a reinstall will help. So far we can´t see any difference in tool setting either. Very strange ...

But maybe you have a point about the right to browse ...

    solution found ...

Turns out that if copying a settings.bsp file to the Desktop (as requsted by the tools only option) I could manage to program my FLASH with new SW from the Flash Programmer. During this process it also demanded having the *.sopcinfo file in a directory just below C:\ (which was granted) far from where my project files are.

But after finishing this process the tool allows me to browse to any directory !!!??? Seems that without any initial file path - no path could be selected. I suspect a version (10.1. SP1) bug here !?

Anyway - my HW/SW images are now dowloaded to flash and my project starts at power-on.
