Direct replacement of EP1C6Q240C8 in higher family

We are using ep1c6q240c8 Cyclone family device in our design. I want to upgrade to Cyclone II or higher. Can I get a pin to pin direct replacement of this device in Cyclone II or higher fami...

EP1C6Q .. can be replaced by EP1C12Q.. that is OK

But can I switch to Cyclone II or Cylcone III family...or even higher.. from cylone family device..without going for board layout changes..
