IP core:

* Generic term for Intellectual Property

megafunction:

* An Altera term for an IP core that has a GUI interface, the MegaWizard generator. The GUI provides a user-friendly interface for configuring the generics/parameters on the IP in a consistent manner.

pre-made TCL component in sopc:

* An IP core and support scripts for use in Altera's SOPC Builder and Qsys system builder tools. The Tcl scripts identify the Avalon interfaces on the IP core, so that the SOPC/Qsys GUIs can provide a graphical representation of the system.
