12 years agoDE2i-150 - HSMC THDB-ADA Daughter Card (Analog to Digital Converter)
Hello all,
I have recently received the THDB-ADA Daughter Card and downloaded the provided software. The Demonstrations folder provided does not include a program for the DE2i-150, and while I went through to modify the DE2-115 file to use the pins according to the DE2i-150, apparently a one hour time limit had expired and I was unable to program the board with this example file. So now I'm left with a Users Guide that has little information on how to actually operate the Daughter Card, since I am unable to run these examples. Is there any file that may help with determining what signals need to be provided to this Daughter Card? Using the Users Guide, I see the pins of the HSMC port and how it lines up with the FPGA pins. I'm just not certain what all the pins are, and it's not very explanatory in the users guide. There is no data sheet for this Card, only for the ADC and the DAC separately. Any help is appreciated, thanks!12 Replies

Hi ,
In the pdf attached below at pg 11 there is a column named Pin No. HSMC. what does it indicate? And the other two columns have the same no , but i thought the connectors matched when connected in "up-side down manner". So how is it that Pin No. ADA HSMC and Pin No. HSTC (DE3 only) share the same No ?? thanks! - Altera_Forum

The AD/DA HSMC connector appears to use a non-standard pin numbering scheme. Perhaps this board was created before the "HSMC Standard".
Pin# 1 on the AD/DA connector connects to pin# 159 on the HSMC connector. This is a 3.3V power pin. Pin# 2 on the AD/DA connector connects to pin# 160 on the HSMC connector. This is the "presentN" pin on the HSMC connector, and is ground on the AD/DA board. Build a spreadsheet with *all* the pin numbers on the HSMC connector and map it to the pins on the AD/DA connector, and you will see that the power signals match. Cheers, Dave
