cyclone3 programming problem

hi

1.while programming cycclone3 with jtag, jtag communication error is coming,

what might be the problem

    What is the error message?

    What kind of the package of the device do you have? If you use the QFP144 package with an extra pad, you need to tie the pad to GND.

    hi

    i am getting error as

    1."jtag communication error "while i am programming with signal tap(STP) and JTAG

    2. when i am programming with serail PROM using active serial configuration

    "BLANK CHECK FAILED" is coming

    but fpga is working with old .pof (ie with previosly loaded pof)

    Sounds like a custom board with signal quality problems (interfering signals, wrong pull-up/pull-down resistors, unstable supply voltage).
