Cyclone III starter Kit--2.5Volt Problem

Dear ALL

Forgive me i am new user to FPGA

I am using the starter Kit.

I have made a simple design using VHDL, which is a basic buffer e.g

A<=B;

So if B is equal to 2.5 V then A will be 2.5.

Both A and B are pins in the HSMC connector.

My questions is are the pins by default asserted to 2.5, and whereby my switch(b) must be grounded. As by default it seems like there is some voltage on that pin even before i put 2.5 to that pin.

So is the starter Kit providing this voltage or is it the actaul FPGA unit.

Regards

    Not sure how to parse your real question here.

    Look at the documentation (schematic) for the CIII board.

    The HSMC is fed from a particular back of the FPGA.

    That Bank is most likely already set to a particular voltage standard.

    Depends on if the FPGa is programmed already or not.

    Best I can do for now.
