Cyclone II (DE2 Board) Expansion headers

Hello all,

I am a student and very unexperimented with FPGA. I need help to know how to use the expansions headers on the DE2 board, more precisely how to read switches's state SW7-0 (0 or 1) then send a 8 serial digit word and read it on the expansion header. It have been a while I have not used VHDL and I am really stuck....
