Can Cyclone V SoC use straight SDRAM?

Can Cyclone V SoC use straight SDRAM, that existed before DDR1, DDR2, etc.? Altera says "Support for double data rate 2 (DDR2), DDR3, and low-power DDR2 (LPDDR2) SDRAM" in HPS Technical Reference Manual, so I suspect not, but want to make sure.
