ASM Charts

Got question regarding ASM charts? If for example I developed a synchronous system using VHDL code e.g. clock or stopwatch. This system has a reset which is independent of clock, would that need to be shown on the ASM, I would assume not as the ASM shows the synchronous parts only.

    The convention for reset is to show an arrow leading to the first state, eg, to the IDLE state. Often its not even labeled.
