Thanks for your reply. Basically I want to be able to program an EPCS** connected to a Cyclone FPGA via its JTAG interface. I can do this now if I use the SFL Megafunction and Altera PC tools.

However, I need to use my own PC software and hence need a replacement for the SFL or a desciption of the protocol that if uses.
