Honored Contributorthe ALTGX 10.0 megafunction won't allow you to create a 5 Gbps PIPE interface (gen1 only). in basic mode you can get it up to 5000 Mbps, so the tool is ready to allow the -3 devices to go over 3.25 Gbps or whatever the old maximum speed was
i'm not too familiar with the GX, maybe you can use a basic mode transceiver and build your own PIPE, or create a 2.5 Gbps PIPE and see if you can replace the transceiver instantiation either way it doesn't look straight forward in the current release
