what the demo in 4cgx15_start_kit used for?

I recently get a CycloneIV_4cgx15_start_kit.

In the <Install Driver>:altera\91\kits\cycloneIVGX_4cgx15_start\demos directory, threre is ONLY a c4gx_hip_x1d.sof file, who can tell me what it's used for. I thought it was pci-e x1 demo, but after download it to the kit, and plug the kit to PC , no new device was founded.

So who can let me know it.
