"unknown error in a block symbol file" with Cyclone III kit

OK, I am probably just missing something obvious but when I use the MegaWizard manager to create a AltMemPhy component I get this cryptic error message "unknown error in a block symbol file ..." afte...

Did you have any weir character in your directory name like "&"? When I tried it, the MegaWizard has no problem with directory like "projects and ip", but "projects & ip" won't work.
