running Nios II system on Altera DSP kit

I have a problem. I am using Altera DSP Development kit to run Nios II system. the .sof files gets dumped on to the board. But when i try to run a simple hello_world program using the Nios II IDE, message is displayed on to the console ""processor is paused. Leaving target "
