processing AVCHD streams

I own an Sony HDR video cam and like to process its out. Does anybody have experiences in connecting to such stream over HDMI?

    you may have issue with HDCP, it would be easier using DVI.

    Hm, well my Camera in fact has this HDMI connector- so I am not free in decision what to use. What I really need is as SPEC of the analog signals and somehow a video compatible level conversion to meet the FPGAs inputs. I do not expect tofed them directly.

    And then of course a timing diagram of the video format.

    to process HDMI..you will pay... Licence is not cheap, I decided to go cipher-less with the DVI as well for this very reason.
