Newbee question about board selection

Hi all, I am new to the whole FPGA thing and am seriously looking at the DE1/Cyclone II starter kit (these seem to be the same board???) I like the board especially for it's various ports ...

For Xilinx to Altera, you will require to convert all the primitives to Altera primitives. Then the megafuntions to Altera megafuntions. There will be X2A program launch from Altera end of this month. You can try to convert using that.

If you want to get a board, I recommend you to get either the DE2 or the Cyclone III NIos II Embedded Evaluation Kit. The later comes with an LCD touch screen.
