MAX 10 - I2C Remote System Update Example

Hello,

I would like to use I2C remote system update in my system, the system include CPU instead of Max10 master, but the user manual doesn't have below information:

1. When the I2C update interface is one of addional salves in the same I2C bus, what is the address of Max10 slave ?

2. The Max10 i2c slave interface must to be connected to specific pins ? in the EVB they connected to J3.4 J3.5

    Hi Niv


    From the design you could see the slave address from the I2C slave IP.

    You could refer to the screenshot of a separate project of the I2C slave IP.

    From the example design the slave address should be 0x56.


    Yes from the example the i2c slave needs to be connected to the pin from the user guide.

    For additional i2c device you could connect in daisy chain to the master SDA & SCL pins (PMODA.1 & PMODA.2)

    You could refer the slave address from the slavei2c IP.

    Yes, the pins are required for the i2c communication to work for the RSU example to work.

    The pins are already defined in the example project to be the i2c communication pins.

    Is there a problem with connecting the i2c pins?

      Hi,

      I know they are already design, but in my design those pins are used for different process - my question if I can set I2C pins to different pins from the example.

    Hi Niv


    Yes, it is possible to assing the i2c pins to a separate pin out.

    You could do this in the Pin Assignment tool.
