MAX II devices support vertical migration within the same package (for example, you can migrate between the EPM570, EPM1270, and EPM2210 devices in the 256-pin FineLine BGA package). Vertical migration means that you can migrate to devices whose dedicated pins and JTAG pins are the same and power pins are subsets or supersets for a given package across device densities.

Thanks for your reply.
However, I am seeing EPM1270M256C4N part into EOL category, so looking for its alternate part. Could you please suggest the equivalent alternate part number?

We would suggest you to move to later devices such as Max V or Max 10. We can refer to link below for their information:

There are product tables for each of the family as reference.

Hi,
We plan to use EPM1270M256C4N to support on-board USB Blaster II functionality as used in MAX10 FPGA Development Kit (6XX-44292R) .
So, based on your inputs, plan to use Max 10 device 10M04DCF256I7G part in place of EPM1270M256C4N part to overcome the EOL issue.
Kindly review the part and let us know if 10M04DCF256I7G part is okay to use.

Can you guide me to which PDN where the OPN is indicated to be EOL?
The closest device that I can find available is EPM1270M256I5N
where the existing code shall be able to be reused.
For newer devices, the migration have to be done and the source code have to be recompiled.
