cyclone 10 GX - JTAG ID is different and dumping failed

The Quartus Prime Pro Edition 17.1 version has been used as IDE.

The reference design is downloaded from intel Design store under Cyclone 10 GX - FFT to iFFT with Natural Input and Output Order Using Cosine Data Example Design 17.1.

however, after compilation and reducing frequency as mentioned in the Cyclone 10 GX FFT to iFFT with Natural Input and Output Orders Using Cosine Data Example Design 17.1 User Guide On trying to program the sof file in the programmer, I come across an error as follows :

Error(209015): Can't configure device. Expected JTAG ID code 0x02E120DD for device 2, but found JTAG ID code 0xFFFFFFFF. Make sure the location of the target device on the circuit board matches the device's location in the device chain in the Chain Description File (.cdf).

The figure attached below , shows the programmer that fails after 35%.

Kindly advice on how to resolve this problem.

regards

  • Hi,

Per my understanding, you are having a problem with JTAG IDCODE.

Please make sure the nSTATUS is high before sending the TDO signal IDCODE.

      Hi Aiman ,

      Thanks for your reply.

Could you please brief me on how to check if nSTATUS is high ?

On checking device and pin options , I don't see nstatus pins .
This is the only option enabled , with auto usercode also enabled.

Kindly direct me on what needs to be updated here .

      Thanks

  • Hi,

You can check the nSTATUS through scopeshot. Another option is, if you have LED in your design, you can check if the LED is blinking or not.

    Regards,

    Aiman
