Byteblaster-II cable length

I have a Bytelblaster-II cable. However, the cable is very short. Does the ByteBlaster-II work with longer cables. i.e. can I attach a longer cable to the PC and connect the Byteblaster-II to that ca...

I've used at least 2 m cable, may be more. Parallel printers are usually working with 5 m with no problems, I expect the same with ByteBlaster.
