for a new design I'm starting to use an evaluation board from Arrow Electronics, (but designed by trenz electronics) with Agilex 3

This board has an Hyperam W957D8NBRA4I installed but the Nios V example design uses only internal RAM.
Anyone knows if the IP to use this ram is free into quartus or is necessary to acquire a license?

you can find open source HyperRam HDL code on the net, didn't yet check their functionality. Arrow is referring to Synaptic Lab xSPI IP for the Agilex development kits

I think Hyperam component may use with a third party IP and might require a license.
For the third party IP, you may need to check the vendor directly for the license.
Maybe you can reach out to Arrow first to check for the resources of the evaluation board on using the Hyperam.

New ContributorHi, I'm waiting to receive 2 AXC3000 board to try some test with a minimal nios V system and basic code running on hyperam.
If an IP will be necessary and cost some keuros this will be a big problem for my design based (by now) on this board. Arrow demo design runs from internal ram, strange to have an hyperram on board without using it, talking about an evaluation board
