Applying ADC on DE1

I just ordered a DE1 design kit and I want to applay analog to digital converter on the board. There are 4 VGA ADCs. They can be used as regular ADCs? Can someone send me a link or mail with...

Sorry I'm just a beginner so I can't be helpful to you. Anyway Cyclone II (it's placed on the DE1 board right?) support LVDS signals so I think it's possible to use LVDS as ADCs as described in the link you gave me.
