Why is there a high failure rate for a 400G FHT BER performance seen when manually pulling the optical module out of the connector and re-inserting the module back in case of INNO LIGHT and WTD AOC cables but not with Hisense Cables?

Description

The failure rate of 1/20 is noticed when manually pulling the optical module out of the connector and re-inserting. This failure is manifested as loss of PCS alignment or bad BER.
This problem is seen due to the race condition between convergence and when data from the module is stable.

Resolution

The workaround is to disable the auto issued recovery mode and use the recovery state by following the user command sequencer.
The sequence would be to power up, assert RX reset, disable auto recovery, de-assert RX reset, and manually issue RX Convergence.
