Why does the Intel® R-Tile Avalon®-ST for PCI Express* IP fail to generate an Example Design when using the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.3 for Microsoft® Windows®?

Description

Due to a problem with the Intel® R-Tile Avalon® Streaming for PCI Express IP in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v21.3 for Microsoft Windows, the design example generation may fail. When this happens you might see the following error:

Error: couldn't open "C:/Users/<path>/0001_intel_rtile_pcie_ast_1_gen/pcie_ed_rp//create_quartus_project.tcl"

Resolution

To work around this problem follow these steps:

1. Upgrade your Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software to v21.4
2. Generate a new Intel® R-Tile Avalon® Streaming for PCI Express IP design example:  intel-rtile-pcie-ast-ed.tcl
