Why does the Intel® Quartus® Prime software fail to generate the DisplayPort Example Design on Windows*?

Description

Due to a problem with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software for Windows* version 17.1, you may see that the Intel FPGA DisplayPort IP will not generate an Example Design for Intel® Arria® 10 . This occurs when the Simulation box has been checked in the Design Example tab.

Resolution

To avoid this error, when using Windows* ensure that only Synthesis Design Example has been selected.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus® Prime® Pro Edition software version 17.1.2
