Why does the GTS SDI II IP Design Example in Dual Simplex Serial Loopback mode fail to lock the RX?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.3.1, when using the Agilex™ 5 FPGA devices in Dual Simplex Serial Loopback configuration mode, the RX datapath cannot achieve locked status. This problem is caused by an error in the transceiver firmware related to the SYSPLL and CLKRX from the same/different transceiver quad.

Resolution

To workaround this problem when using version 24.3.1, use an older version of Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Programmer to program the .sof file.
This problem has been fixed starting in version 25.1 of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
