Why does SDI Receiver have locking issue in Stratix V or Arria V?

Description

You may encounter locking issue when using SDI receiver.
1.  Frame_locked is not asserted after switching the incoming SDI signal.
2.  Frame_locked asserted only after few seconds (long locking time) when switching the incoming SDI signal.

This issue will only happen in ACDS Quartus® 12.0, 12.0sp1 and 12.0sp2 software and it will be fixed in ACDS Quartus 12.1.

Resolution

If you are using Quartus II software version 12.0 or 12.0sp1, please update it to Quartus II software version 12.0sp2 and applied the patch below.

Caution - You must either have previously installed the Quartus II 12.0sp2 software or must install the Quartus II 12.0sp2  software before installing this patch. Otherwise, the patch will not be installed correctly and the Quartus II software will not run properly.
