Why does Configuration via Protocol (CvP) update fail on Intel Agilex® 7 devices when accessing flash through the Mailbox Client Intel® FPGA IP before performing a CvP update?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.1 and earlier, Configuration via Protocol (CvP) update in Intel Agilex® 7 devices will fail if you access flash through the Mailbox Client Intel® FPGA IP before performing a CvP update.

Resolution

To fix this problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.4, download and install the following patch:

• Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.4 Patch 0.49 for Linux (.run)
• Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.4 Patch 0.49 for windows (.exe)
• Readme for Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.4 Patch 0.49 (.txt)
