Why does Arria® 10 EPE produce a warning statement when the design has preserved unused HSSI channels?

Description

The EPE does not support modeling power of preserved unused HSSI channels. The EPE will produce a warning statement when import the CSV file generated from a design that has preserved unused HSSI channels.

Resolution

Use the Quartus® Power Analyzer (QPA) to model the power of such channels instead. However, suppose you plan to use these reserved channels in the future. In that case, you should estimate the power these channels will be used when fully active to avoid undersizing your regulators and cooling solution for future applications.
