Why do I see lower Fmax performance for designs targeting Cyclone V devices?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software versions 13.0 and 13.0 SP1, you may see reduced Nios® II Fmax performance for designs targeting Cyclone® V devices.

Resolution

A patch is available to fix this problem for the Quartus® II software versions 13.0 and 13.0 SP1. Download and install the appropriate patch from the links below:

  • Download the version 13.0 SP1 patch 1.01 for Windows (.exe)
  • Download the version 13.0 SP1 patch 1.01 for Linux (.run)

  • Download the version 13.0 patch 0.21 for Windows (.exe)
  • Download the version 13.0 patch 0.21 for Linux (.run)

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
