Why do I see error messages when launching Intel Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 18.0 Transceiver Toolkit with Intel® Stratix® 10 TX E-tile design?

Description

The following error messages may be seen in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 18.0 when you use the transceiver toolkit and load design for Intel® Stratix® 10 TX E-tile device. 

• Failed to query line encoding
• Failed to access soft registers
• Failed to query firmware version

Resolution

To avoid this error message, the reconfig_clk for transceiver PHY IP should be a free running clock. Otherwise, you may encounter the error.
