Why do I get the Minor error code 0x002B - HPSCONFIG_REQ_FAIL when the HPS on Intel Agilex® 7 and Intel® Stratix® 10 SoC devices fails to configure?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.2 and earlier, you might see Intel Agilex® 7 and Intel® Stratix® 10 SoC devices fail to configure from bitstream files, with the configuration data plus the HPS FSBL, which reports as Major error = 0xF004 - ERR_INTERNAL_ERROR & Minor error = 0x002B - HPSCONFIG_REQ_FAIL.

 

This issue occurs using the JTAG or ASx4 configuration scheme.

 

Resolution

This problem is fixed beginning with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.4.
