SoC Handbook Incorrectly Refers to RMII

Description

The Ethernet Media Access Controller (EMAC) chapter of the Hard Processor System Technical Reference Manual contains an incorrect reference to the Reduced Media Independent Interface (RMII) protocol. This incorrect information appears in Figure 17-1, in both Volume 3: Hard Processor System Technical Reference Manual of the Cyclone V Device Handbook and Volume 3: Hard Processor System Technical Reference Manual of the Arria V Device Handbook.

Resolution

The EMAC PHY does not support RMII. It supports Reduced Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII) for 10/100/1000 and Management Data Input/Output (MDIO).
