Is there a known issue with the Parallel Flash Loader (PFL) in the Quartus II software version 12.1?

Description

Yes, there is a known issue with the PFL in the Quartus® II software version 12.1. Due to this known issue the PFL does not interpret the configuration data size correctly causing Passive Serial (PS) and Fast Passive Parallel (FPP) configuration failure. The failure is indicated by toggling of the nSTATUS pin.

Resolution

A patch is available to fix this problem in the Quartus II software version 12.1. Download and install patch 0.21 from the following link below.

This is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Quartus II software.
