Error (170065): Cannot split carry or cascade chain crossing 11 logic cells and starting on logic cell <cell name> into legal LABs

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 11.1 SP2, you may encounter this error during compilation if a partition is set to Post-fit with preservation level set to Placement and Routing.

Resolution

A patch is available to fix this problem in the Quartus II software version 11.1 SP2. This patch is compatible with patch 2.dp8 for the Quartus II software version 11.1 SP2. Download and install patch 2.dp8f from the appropriate link below:

• Download the version 11.1 SP2 patch 2.dp8f for Windows (.exe)
• Download the version 11.1 SP2 patch 2.dp8f for Linux (.tar)
• Download the Readme for the Quartus II software version 11.1 SP2 patch 2.dp8f (.txt)

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP1.
