Does Stratix® 10 support Serial Vector File (SVF) file for configuration?

Description

Yes. Stratix® 10 support Serial Vector File (SVF) file for configuration in Quartus® Prime Pro.

However, SVF file support will be discontinued in a future versions.

For SDM-based devices, SVF file configuration could take more than 2 minutes to be completed compare to JTAG configuration with Quartus® Programmer or JAM/JBC method that just needs a few seconds to be completed.

Thus, it is not realistic to use SVF file to configure as it takes a longer time.

Resolution

To work around this problem, migrate to JAM/JBC format instead of SVF.
