Using Arduino Header

I am very new to FPGA's and Arduino and I have recently bought an LCD keypad shield that fits onto the Arduino header on the DEO-Nano-SoC (cyclone V) and would really like to use it for debugging.

So my question is how do I program the Arduino part of the board, please? Or how do I use the shield with the board?
