Simple Ethernet on DE2-115

I'm trying to use the ethernet port on the DE2-115 to transmit data, doesn't matter what, can be completely random for all I care, and tried using the DE2_NET demostration that's for the the DE2 but it's not fully compiling. Are there many changes I would need to make in order to port the code over to the DE2-115 to the DE2?
