2 years agoI have done this before when working from home. Use a VPN, and use Xwindows to connect to the work server running Quartus for compilation and simulations.
Then locally install the Quartus Standalone Programmer tool to program a local board via USB with the image file.
So all the main work can be done on the server, and the local system runs the programmer tool via USB to program the board.
Never tried to use remote USB via RDP. There are some software packages out there that purport to be able to do this.
But much simpler to keep the USB aspect local and use the Intel/Altera standalone programmer tool on the local system.
