Quartus ii 15.0: Can't connect to the altera website to check for license file updates

Title is the message that pops up when I open quartus.

From self-service licensing center: "Beginning with version 8.1, a license file is no longer required for this or future versions of the Intel Quartus II Web Edition or Intel Quartus Prime Lite Edition software."

I cannot generate .sof files with evaluation mode. This is for De1-SoC.
