MPEG 2 Decoder on DE2 Board, HELP!!

Hi, I am doing my lab on implementing the MPEG-2 decoder on the DE2 board. However, I am kind of having no clue on that now. I am studying the libmpeg2 for my lab. But I am lost in the long C code. Please anyone gives me a hint how to do that.
